Tsingtao Breweries Q1 Result on reduced tax rate
Tsingtao Breweries <0168.HK>, China's best known beer brand, rose 7.6 percent after reporting 54 percent growth in its first quarter earnings, far exceeding expectations, on a reduced tax rate. The effective tax rate for the quarter came down to 27 percent from 47 percent in the same period of 2008.
