- Neptune Orient Lines said container shipping volumes
declined 35 percent in the six weeks to Feb 6 from a year ago,
while average revenue per forty-foot equivalent unit container
(FEU) declined 11 percent. NOL cited continued deterioration in
demand on all major trade lanes and an earlier Lunar New Year in
2009 compared to last year as reasons for the fall in volume.
